A verified S–D ranking is not available on this site yet. We have not run controlled unit comparisons. For now, choose around the objective, the role you need and the progression of the units you actually own.

Choose by battlefield job
The official game description centers on attacking or defending, recruiting troops, capturing points and ordering formations. Our advice is to start with the task your army needs to complete, then judge whether a unit helps you complete it.
| Battlefield job | Question to ask | Trade-off to watch |
|---|---|---|
| Hold a position | Can the unit remain useful while the team contests the point? | Surviving without affecting the objective. |
| Pressure a defended route | Can it help your team move forward together? | Moving ahead of support and losing the engagement in pieces. |
| Support from a distance | Can it contribute without losing its position? | Range on a card without a clear firing opportunity. |
| Reposition | Can it arrive where the team needs help? | Arriving quickly but without enough support to stay. |
This table is our tactical framework. It does not assign hidden damage bonuses, counters or special abilities to any named unit.
What our rankings will measure
- Objective contribution: whether a unit helps gain or retain the position that matters.
- Consistency: whether the result repeats across more than one favorable encounter.
- Investment: the cost and progression required to reach the tested state.
- Team dependency: how much support the unit needs to reproduce the result.
Attack and defense should be considered separately. We would also record the game version, unit level and upgrade state beside a result. A label without those details is difficult to use.
Run a fair comparison
- Write down the role you are testing before the match.
- Record both units’ level and upgrade state rather than comparing only their names.
- Change one part of the army at a time so you can identify what made a difference.
- Record the objective situation and support available during each attempt.
- Repeat before drawing a conclusion, and keep unsuccessful attempts in the notes.
Common ranking mistakes
A rare pull is exciting, but rarity alone does not answer whether it fills a gap in your current army. A spectacular clip also omits the encounters that went badly. Treat rankings as a starting point for a choice, not a substitute for understanding it.
Start with the unit notebook to identify names and reported roles, or read the beginner’s guide if the match flow is still unfamiliar.
